LET'S VISIT: Hampton Lion's Club Show & Shine 2014

The Hampton Lion's Club Show & Shine is one of the best car shows in the province, in our opinion. This year, it was held on the evening of Wednesday, July 9th. As always, there was an impressive collection of classic cars and trucks available for viewing. There were many antique auto enthusiasts in attendance for the event, as well, and the atmosphere was fantastic! After a mainly cloudy day, the blue sky had finally appeared, making it the perfect evening for a car show. Lots of sunshine and chrome! It doesn't get any better than that!

We are self-declared, 100%, true, bonafide antique auto enthusiasts! We particularly love the real oldies. Anything from the 1930's, 1940's, and especially the 1950's delights us. We were able to see some of our favorites at this year's show....like the yellow Chevy Bel Air seen in the picture above. This dream car makes us swoon! Did we have a good time? You bet. Who says that girls don't love cars?

Looking for something fun to do with the family this summer? Why not visit a car show? Car shows are fun for the entire family. There is usually little or no admission fee (other than perhaps a donation to a local charity). Check bulletin boards, the newspaper, listen to the radio, or do an internet search to find out when and where any car shows will be held in your area. They really are a lot of fun to visit...even if you are not exactly a car enthusiast. It's nice just to stroll the grounds and check out all of the fabulous antique autos with all of their fascinating shapes and cool colors. Pick out which car color is your favorite and get the kids involved. Kids love the one-on-one time with you. Strike up a conversation with the car owners...they love to chat. Whether you like car models from the 30's or from the 80's....car shows have all of the classics. Enjoy the nostalgia. Vroom...Vroom!

For even more fun, listen to Doo-Wop tunes on the drive home and be sure to stop for burgers and shakes. These are the things that make summer memories!
